Well Christmas 2020 is finally upon us and what a year it has been. I don’t think any of us saw it coming, the upheaval and the challenges that have occurred this year have been immense and those that still lie ahead will be difficult. Of course the turmoil that the virus has caused to the classic car world pales in comparison to the human loss and financial strife this virus has brought.
Those of us who were fortunate enough to get out to a few car shows this year were very lucky indeed. And the organisers of those shows deserve a lot of credit for staging their events in very challenging circumstances.
Personally I had hoped to mark Take to the Road’s 5 years of publishing with a series of special feature articles. However those plans went out the window as soon as the first lockdown was implemented. Indeed many a car anniversary came and went this year, with most now postponed until next year. All going well, I shall do the same, so Take to the Road’s 5th anniversary will be marked in its 6th year… that’s the sort of world we live in right now.
The important thing however is to stay safe. The time will come when we can all get out and enjoy our classics like we used to. So here’s to 2021 and the hope it brings! I would like to wish all my Take to the Road readers and subscribers a Happy Christmas!
I will now leave you with my customary Bertone x1/9 Christmas photo.
