Thanks for the comment Patrick. At the end of the day everyone has a different view on what a classic car is. At the moment it is hard to see the current generation of everyday cars as future classics. And the same was probably thought and said about new everyday cars in the 1960s/70s. But the cars they have featured are all considered classics. Having met and spoken with Drew and Paul a number of times, they’ve always stated that they focus on cars that are popular in the market, as they are dealers and have to sell the cars to restore. So they don’t always go for rare and obscure classics. Though the Renault Alpine they featured would fit in that category. Plus the Rover P6 was filmed to show you can still buy a great entry level classic that is practical and has a lot of style. Compared to others on the market the P6 is still very affordable which makes it a great first classic for someone looking to get into old cars. Plus the guys buy cars they remember growing up… its that nostalgia that is driving the market. So that will have an impact on the types of cars chosen for the show.

The good idea to get Drew Prichard involved in a classic car show, however I think the choice of cars could do with some serious looking at. Do we really need yet another classic car show with yet another Morris Minor Traveller, Mini, Capri and Rover p6 restoration? All of those cars have been done to death by other shows – I think the producers are getting confused between what is a classic car, and what was an uninspiring runabout when new, and is just a boring old car now.
