The organisers of Shere Hill Climb 2022 have announced that entries for this years event will open on Tuesday 1st March. This year’s hill climb will take place on Sunday 4th September at its home just east of Guildford in Surrey, and promises to bring another eclectic mix of classics and supercars for the annual blast up the hill.
Entries will be invited from owners of historic classics, vintage motorbikes, modern classics and supercars. The events organisers have stressed that the spaces are strictly limited as it is typically oversubscribed each year, such is its popularity.
So if owners have something special that will guarantee to wow spectators, they are strongly recommended to get their applications in early in order to avoid disappointment.
Last year record crowds saw a spectacular array of vehicles on a beautifully sunny day that produced record donations to all the charities supported by the event and the organisers very much hope to continue this in 2022.
With just about 6 months to go until the action on the hill, it should give enough time to get your classic ready in time for what promises to be a fantastic Sunday of octane fueled action. The goal is to enjoy approximately 3 runs up the hill in what should be warm sunshine, marking the final classic car event of the summer.
The hugely popular event first started in 2013 and has quickly grown to be come one of the top hill climb events in the UK. Take to the Road first attended Shere Hill Climb September 2017 and then followed up by entering the Bertone x1/9 Gran Finale in 2018 (which sadly didn’t go too well due to gremlins). Will the plucky mid engine Italian sports car get another run out to mark the 50th anniversary of the launch of the Fiat x1/9? Well there’s just 6 months to get it ready!
What is certain however is that there will be a mouthwatering selection of vehicles on display in September and the event will be another fantastic day out for petrolheads of all ages.
