Countdown to the Donington Historic Festival 2022

The countdown has begun to the Donington Historic Festival 2022, which is taking place this weekend at Donington Park. The circuit will welcome back motorsport fans on Saturday April 30th and Sunday 1st May for an exciting weekend of high octane action.

Historic motorsport fans are in for a treat this weekend, with Touring Cars spanning four decades, two thundering races for original factory Group C cars, the glorious pre-‘56 and pre-‘61 sports cars of the combined Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy & Stirling Moss Trophy race.

There will also be a dedicated 80-minute spectacular into the twilight for Ford GT40s, a round of the ever-popular Jaguar Classic Challenge, sprightly pre-War Sports Cars – some nearly a century old –  and the epic endurance battle that is the Royal Automobile Club Pall Mall Cup. Star cars include the only Group C/GTP car that the great Paul Newman ever raced – a Spice SE89p.

In addition, the Sporting Bears Motor Club will be running Dream Rides on local roads in classic and super cars in aid of charity, and the open-access paddock and lunchtime pitlane walks will allow spectators to get up close to all that lovely racing machinery.
