Fantastic Ferrari Dino recreation to be auctioned for charity

A modern-day homage to the 1970s classic Ferrari Dino will be auctioned for charity on 30th September, offering car enthusiasts a chance to invest in a truly unique automobile while supporting a good cause. The JH Classics DGT306, a Ferrari Dino recreation, was originally transformed in 2016 by a specialist company that designs, manufactures, and restores classic cars. It was given composite bodywork, an upgraded engine and detailed aesthetics to create a classically styled car with modern performance and safety features.

The car, named the DGT25W, was built using an MR2 Mk2 donor car to a very high specification to satisfy the requirements of the original customer, an avid Ferrari driver.

The eye-catching Blue Metallizzato bodywork has been ceramic coated to provide long lasting protection and easy maintenance. Cromodora chrome 16 x 7 wheels, stainless steel polished bumpers, and chrome external trim, including Dino original wing mirrors and rear number plate light, create a classic look.

The attention to detail continues inside the cabin with specially commissioned Blenheim ochre wool carpets and mats. A full leather interior, including Daytona seats with matching door cards complete the luxurious fit out. The car exudes the feel of a rare classic, with its polished three spoke steering wheel and boss in chrome with wood trim, chromed slider heater controls, chrome rimmed instruments and polished H gate gearshift. The car also comes with air conditioning, Targa top with panels trimmed in black vinyl, electric windows, central locking and a stereo with quadraphonic speakers.

Under the bonnet is a 3 litre V6 Toyota Camry engine mated to a 6-paddle high performance clutch and lightweight Fidanza flywheel delivering c200BHP and 0-60 in c6s. The engine has recently had a full overhaul including new head gaskets, water pump and timing belt, new radiator and coolant change, oil change and new fuel filter. The car is MOT’d until July 2021 with 46k miles on the clock. Low maintenance, insurance premiums and vehicle tax make this an affordable weekend or daily driver.

Maria Hanson MBE commented: ‘We are overwhelmed by the generosity of this gift of this amazing car to auction. We are in need of more support than ever as all of our events this year have been cancelled due to COVID-19 and some grants we usually rely on have been withdrawn. Each holiday for the families we support costs over £400, so the proceeds of the auction will go a long way to helping many of them. There is always a need to help more people than we have resources for and funding is always desperately required, so this donation is appreciated enormously, and we can’t wait to see how much the car goes for!’

The auction will take place on the evening of Wednesday 30th September, at NK Motors in Derby. Bids can be made online via on this website.

That looks amazing and very authentic. A Dino has always been my dream car and I’d buy this in a heartbeat if I had the cash (and somewhere to store it). A gorgeous car and so generous of the owner to donate it to charity.

It looks really good doesn’t it David. Would love to see it in the flesh. It looks a really good recreation. And yes a very generous donation by the owner. A great cause too.
